As discussed in our previous blog Lead ore is a very soft, bluish-gray, metallic element. and is probably the earliest discovered metal that does not occur naturally in its pure state.

Uses of Lead Ore

One of the most widely used metals is Lead, below are it’s few uses:

  • Lead is used in lead-acid batteries for the storage of energy
  • Lead foil.
  • Plumbing
  • Solder
  • Soundproofing
  • Ammunition,
  • and as an ultraviolet ray protector in PVC plastics.

Uses of Zinc

Zinc is the third most used non-ferrous metal after aluminium and copper, Zinc compounds and dusts are used in:

  • Cosmetics
  • Plastics:
  • Rubber
  • Ointments
  • Sun screen
  • Creams, soaps
  • Paints
  • Ink
  • Fertilisers and batteries.
  • also for galvanising steel to protect it from rust.
